High school sweethearts Berke (Ben Foster) and Allison (Melissa Sagemiller) are the perfect couple.
As he starts his senior year of high school, everything in Berke's life is perfect -- he's in love with his childhood sweetheart, Allison, and the school's basketball team is having a great year!
Meanwhile, Allison is not your typical heartbreaker. In other words, she’s not a snobby bee-yatch. But even though Allison grew up with Berke, and doesn’t wanna hurt him, she’s ready to move on to something a little more exciting. And that’s when she meets Striker (Shane West). He’s the new student with the foreign accent that wins Allison’s heart. With one of the main parts in the school play (opposite Allison) he immediately becomes Berke’s nemesis -- mimicking his pain and relishing the torment his relationship with Allison causes.
Kelly and her best friend, Basin. |
Berke's friends, Felix (Colin Hanks) and Dennis (Sisqó), want him get over it, but Berke has other plans. Refusing to give up so easily, he vows to win her back. And despite his lack of singing and acting ability, he quits the basketball team to try out for the school play, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream."
Then Felix' younger sister, Kelly (Kirsten Dunst), comes into the picture. Kelly's smart, beautiful, and used to telling her older brother, Felix, that she can take care of herself. And even though Kelly's only a junior, she's in total control.

Berke teams up with Kelly and gets the part, but soon realizes that their relationship is something more than professional. His best friend's little sister doesn't seem so little anymore.
Kelly helps Berke win a small part in the school play, as part of his plan to get Allison back, but little does he know, Kelly's got a plan of her own.
Dr. Desmond Forrest-Oates (Martin Short) is the drama teacher. He’s the teacher that tries to act as young and as cool as his students -- and fails miserably. Plus, he thinks he’s the world’s greatest gift to theater, and he doesn’t miss a chance to flaunt his self-proclaimed talent in the face of everyone he deems unworthy. Ya know, like Berke.
Kelly's got her own ideas (and feelings) for Berke. She continues to coach Berke in his role and becomes his shoulder to cry on, while getting closer and closer to stealing the heart of her new crush. But how can she turn his head when it's already spinning? Before they can get on with it, she's got to help him... Get Over It!
