Frances and Lily
BLOCKBUSTER VERSION: Frances is the ultimate L.A. party girl who lives for the Hollywood scene - Lily is in town for a wedding to hook up with the man of her dreams. When they lose the wedding invitation, they go on an after hours search through cool Hollywood as they hop from club to club, party to party and boy to boy.

However, they soon realize that their ambitions for the night are radically different: Lily is on a quest for the perfect man... and Frances is on a quest for the perfect martini!

Blockbuster (old)

Fox (new)
On September 3rd, 2002, Desperate but not Serious was released on DVD and VHS in the United States by Twentieth Century Fox, and retitled Reckless + Wild. Twentieth changed the film's title because Blockbuster Inc. had released DBNS for six months in their stores in 1999 as a "video exclusive." Fox presumably wanted Blockbuster and its customers to buy their new version of the same film (and/or get people to buy or rent the same film), so they changed the title and the artwork. Sneaky, eh? But don't worry, everything inside is the same brilliant film that took the New York, Hawaii and Savannah film festivals by storm! (And still includes the author's ear in the last scene.)

Also known as...

Twentieth Century Fox and Franchise Pictures present a Phoenician Films/Fallout Films Production: Reckless + Wild (aka Desperate but not Serious)—a lost wedding invitation sends two girls on an after-hours search through the club and party scene of late-night Hollywood. Hoping to stumble upon the club where the wedding reception is being held, the girls experience a series of offbeat encounters with the underground Hollywood crowd as they go from club to club, party to party, and ultimately from boy to boy!
