10 SECRETS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT ON THE LINE + A FEW BONUSES

1. Joey Fatone came up with the idea of pouring sugar all over himself during the scene in which he performs his rendition of the song Pour Some Sugar On Me. However, the production crew was unaware of what Joey was planning and was so taken aback that they burst out into hysterical laughter and applause when the director yelled, "Cut!"

2. During the filming of the movie's finale on the outdoor train platform in Chicago, temperatures dropped well below the freezing mark despite the appearance on-screen of a sunny Autumn day. Unfortunately, Chicago's famous winds only made matters worse by continually hammering the cast and crew mercilessly throughout the entire day.

3. The movie, ON THE LINE, was actually based on a 1996 short film entitled, ON THE L.

4. During production, Lance lived in a house next to Lake Ontario. Joey, on the other hand, had a shorter shooting schedule and opted instead to stay in a hotel.

5. Producer Wendy Thorlakson met Lance backstage when *NSYNC was performing at The Universal Amphitheater. At the time, Wendy was working for actor and long-time *NSYNC fan, Tom Hanks.

6. Producer Richard Hull and Executive Producer Andrew Panay met in 1995 when they were both working in the mailroom at a Los Angeles music promotions company. They often sat around at work - when they should have been working, of course - discussing their aspirations to make movies. They got their first opportunity to do so when, after losing touch for a few years, they reunited - along with future ON THE LINE producers, Peter Abrams and Robert Levy - to produce the 1999 smash hit film, SHE'S ALL THAT.

7. The movie's softball scene was actually written to be shot on a beautiful sunny day. But when unforeseen circumstances caused the shooting schedule to be rearranged on less than a day's notice, the decision was made to shoot the scene as if the weather was "crisp" - despite the actual below-freezing temperatures!

8. Co-Producer Joe Anderson has produced three Grammy-nominated albums in the past five years.

9. After the first day of production, Joey talked the manager of the local IMAX theater into letting him hook-up a video game to the giant screen. Joey, Lance, the producers and a few friends then spent the next several hours playing video boxing and basketball on the enormous screen.

Joey and Sosa
Two guys responsible for some monster hits: Sammy Sosa and *NSYNC's Joey Fatone.
10. While filming during a baseball game at Chicago's Wrigley Field, the production actually had to take a break so that Lance, Joey, Emmanuelle and GQ could dash up to the press box and sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" at the 7th Inning Stretch.

Bonuses:
Although it doesn't happen until about halfway through the movie, the scene where Lance meets the girl who hates pork was the very first scene filmed.

Chicago Cub and homerun smasher, Sammy Sosa, only agreed to appear in the movie two hours before he actually shot his scene.

The ON THE LINE soundtrack is only the first of many albums to be released under Lance's own soundtrack label, A Happy Place Records, whose mascot is a penguin.
