"WHO IS JOHN DU PREZ?"
Composed and Produced by Geoffrey Deane, David Jaymes and John Du Prez;
Performed by Modern Romance featuring John Du Prez

In 1982, the British pop group Modern Romance (featuring John Du Prez) had a UK Top 20 hit with the vocal version of "Cherry Pink (and Apple Blossom White)." The B-side of that single is dedicated to and named after Once Bitten composer John Du Prez, a (nearly) instrumental track titled Who Is John Du Prez?, commemorating his name change from Trevor Jones to John Du Prez in order to avoid confusion with the South African film composer Trevor Jones.

Du Prez left the band soon after, but his love for Latin dance music can still be heard in the Tango-infused score for his next job, Once Bitten.

Modern Romance scored seven further Top Forty hits before disbanding in 1985, including Best Years of Our Lives (Songs) which reached #4 on the UK chart and was later featured in the movie Shrek.
