"STOP TALKING ABOUT US"
Performed and written by 3-Speed

Synth rock band 3-Speed, featuring Linda Chase, was formed in Boston, Massachusetts. After performing in highly acclaimed bands (such as "Image") on the New England progressive rock scene throughout the late '70s and '80s, Chase and former "Image" bandmates Mike Greeley and David Currie then formed "3 Speed" and were signed to MCA/Curb records in 1985, Chase and Currier would then co-write, arrange, produce and perform many songs for major motion pictures.

The band was discovered after their manager sent a demo tape to a studio in Los Angeles, completely unbeknownst to the band members. An executive was listening to their demo tape on a radio on his desk when Once Bitten's executive producer Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. walked by, heard Linda Chase singing, and said that he wanted the band on a plane the following weekend.¹ Their title song was featured as a Billboard "Pick of the Week", and its video was prominently shown on MTV and all other music video stations in international markets.

In addition to the Once Bitten theme, another song by the band called "Stop Talking About Us" was used in the film's "Phone-A-Date" scene at the Whisky A Go Go, and released by MCA/Curb Records on the film's soundtrack. This song was not written for the movie, but was actually a demo that the band had previously recorded. The version that appears on the soundtrack album is the demo.

3-Speed enjoyed considerable success after the release of the Once Bitten soundtrack; at one point they were even opening for Pat Benatar. MCA Records, however, never petitioned the band to record a full-length LP, commissioning them instead to write songs for more soundtracks, including those for Rad and Savage Streets. Their song "Back On The Streets" was produced by Phil Green and Ron St. Germaine for the Pia Zadora movie Voyage Of The Rock Aliens.

Over the past several years, in addition to live performances, Linda Chase has concentrated on studio production, programming, arranging and audio/visual computer skills, writing radio and TV musical images (jingles) for markets in 40 states, and songs for TV shows. She writes, arranges and produces for many aspiring artists (some in continued collaboration with Currier) and has most recently been in demand for her unique vocal coaching techniques which provide great results in achieving an artists very best performance in the studio.

Linda is a BMI affiliate, a member of AF of M (American Federation of Musicians) and of AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), is the recipient of a Freddy award for an educational film score, and is on the staff of highly-regarded Powerhouse Studio in Lunenburg, MA., www.powerhousestudio.com , where she is available to assist artists with their creative development on all levels.
