Dee Dee Rescher as "Laundromat Lady"

Darlene Ann "Dee Dee" Rescher is an actress and producer known for her acting and voice-over roles in both film and television. She is the daughter of Jewish cinematographer Gayne Rescher (Jay Gayne Rescher) and actress Ottilie Kruger. Her paternal grandparents were cinematographer Jay Rescher and silent film actress Jean Tolley, and her maternal grandparents were actor Otto Kruger (who was related to South African pioneer and president Paul Kruger) and Sue MacManamy. Dee Dee has been married to Keith Auck since December 3, 2016. She was previously married to Roy G. Silver and George Ball.

Rescher began her career in the 1970s with television appearances, including roles in series like Chico and the Man and the TV movie Breaking Up Is Hard to Do. Then came the lascivious "Laundromat Lady" in Once Bitten, then her breakthrough role as the bus driver in the 1986 comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off. She has the best laugh in show business, and it was featured in the Blake Edwards film, Skin Deep (1989). On television, she gained recognition for recurring roles as Dorothy in The King of Queens (1998-2007) and various characters including Dotty and Bailiff in The Nanny (1993-1999). In voice acting, Rescher has lent her distinctive husky voice to animated projects, notably as Miss Skullnick in Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2015-2019) and Ms. Tara Ribble in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017).
