RECKLESS + WILD (alternate title)

Please, don't let the cover art deceive you (although this poster here is less than the one on NetFlix, where only Schiffer is shown). This is a movie that is supposed to have Christine Taylor as the lead, fell through the cracks, was slapped with Claudia Schiffer's face on the cover to try and make up revenue in the bargain bins and really is owned by all the other, smaller named actors in the flick, primarily the completely, insanely wonderful Paget Brewster.

It's a stupid set-up and it's another one of those LA movies where they try to lead you to believe that all anyone does in California is party constantly. In reality, that portion is quite small, but it is pronounced when you're around it, so it feels bigger than it really is.

And when you calculate how many character actors and bit actors are in this movie (from members of MadTV to comedians Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt having a periodic conversation over the gayness of STAR WARS, to Max Perlich as "Not Todd!" to the late Wendy Jo Sperber as the land lord... this movie seems to be more of a parody of the fact that the people starring in it are the scene skimmers themselves. Those actors who might have had a lucky break here or there, but for the most part are in the trenches, mixing it up to try and drum up work.

I really wasn't expecting much from this movie, just wanted to enjoy more Brewster. But I ended up laughing hysterically in moments, that I can't deny that this is a perfect, "Queue and Bake" movie to watch with friends. Or even imaginary ones.

Brewster looking all Bettie, by the way? Totally hot. Just wanted to add that in as well.
